About Trademark Design

One owner. One crew. Twenty-four years.

Charles Craig has been painting Metro Atlanta for twenty-four years — residential and commercial, interior and exterior — and he is on the job himself, not dispatching a subcontractor he has never met and turning up at the end for a signature.

They keep the site tidy every evening and treat a lived-in house like somebody still has to live in it — clean-cut and courteous whether it is a single room, a full exterior repaint, or an office block scheduled around your hours. The standard does not move.

What you can expect

Six reasons the estimate is the easy part.

The things homeowners actually worry about when they let a contractor into the house, answered before you have to ask.

Free written estimates

Charles walks the property himself and leaves a written scope naming the prep, the repairs and the exact product. No sales representative, no financing pitch, and nothing to sign on the spot.

The scope is clear before work starts

Prep, repairs and the products going on the house are named in writing before the first drop cloth comes out — nothing gets decided once the crew is already there.

Repairs are prepped and primed

Any board that gets patched or replaced is sanded and primed before it ever sees a finish coat. Paint over bare or unprimed wood is the first thing to fail.

Two full days of dry time

A crew that washes on Monday and paints on Tuesday is sealing water under your finish. We stop for two days on every exterior, which costs us time and is the single reason the coat lasts.

Rotten wood replaced, not covered

Soft fascia, trim, casings and soffit are found during prep and cut out before priming. You see every board before it is replaced, and it appears on the written scope rather than as a surprise mid-job.

A walkthrough before you pay

Charles walks the finished job with you, writes down whatever you find, and works the list. The site is tidied at the end of every day in the meantime — plantings, walkways and windows covered before anything is opened.

Our process

Six steps. Two of them are just waiting.

Charles described the job start to finish. This is it, unabridged.

Pressure wash

Chalk, mildew and pollen come off the whole exterior now, or they get sealed under your finish coat.

Let it dry — two full days

Nothing is touched for two days, because paint over damp siding traps the water underneath it.

Prep the entire house

Scraping, sanding and caulking across every elevation, not only the ones that show from the street.

Replace the rotten wood

Soft fascia, trim, casings and soffit are cut out and replaced with new material, and you see every board before it goes.

Prime

Every bare and repaired surface is primed, because a finish coat is not a primer whatever the can says.

Paint, then walk it together

Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore goes on, then Charles walks the house with you and works your list before the final invoice.

Two of the six steps are waiting. That is the part competitors skip.

Questions

Before you call.

Charles walks the property himself, usually inside an hour, and leaves you a written scope naming the preparation, any wood repairs and the exact product. It is free, there is no sales representative, and there is nothing to sign on the spot.

Most houses run about a week, and two of those days are the drying period after the pressure wash when nobody is on site. Wood repairs and the amount of prep a house needs move that number more than square footage does — your written estimate gives you the schedule up front.

Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore. Which line goes on your house depends on the surface and the exposure, and it is named on your written estimate before work starts.

Yes, and we find it during prep rather than painting over it. Soft fascia, trim, casings and soffit are cut out and replaced with new material before priming. You see every board before it is replaced.

Not for the working days. Charles asks that you are there for the initial walkthrough and again for the final one, so you can point at anything you want changed while the crew is still on site.
